Flourishing in the world of the underground Australian music scene, STAFFORD's extraordinarily detailed, stippled, black and white illustrations, are fueled by heavy metal and punk iconography. STACKED - Muchos

FRIDAY 25 MAY 2018
https://www.facebook.com/events/572745823111135

STACKED is an ongoing series of work by Adelaide based artist, MUCHOS that explores the ideas of form, composition and balance in day-to-day life.

Through the symbolism of seemingly ordinary objects, MUCHOS uses his cheerful colour pallet and creative composition to express a ‘balancing act’ of objects existing in harmony, working with one another, despite their unusual positions and differences.

“It comes back to the way we live our lives, constantly juggling our time and energy across different commitments, trying to work out how each individual thing will fit into the next,” - MUCHOS.

WALL STUDIES - Steven Falco

SATURDAY 14 APRIL 2018
https://www.facebook.com/events/155561541806877/

Working with acrylic paint on archival oil and cotton paper to produce a series of hand-painted, solid colour block pieces, every artwork created for FALCO’s debut exhibition can easily translate to a large scale mural on any surface without compromising the design.

WALL STUDIES will express snapshots of FALCO’s personality by showcasing subjects that make up his conscious and subconscious self. His motivation behind the series was to create a body of work that reflects his personal inspiration and interests, as a breath of fresh air from an industry where clients often have creative control, and diverge from an artist’s original style.

BUSH FABLES

EXHIBITION BY COURTNEY BRIMS / SATURDAY / JUNE 3 / 6PM
https://www.facebook.com/events/1479171462145946/

The Culprit Club is proud to announce, BUSH FABLES – a solo exhibition by COURTNEY BRIMS. Brims' latest collection of work draws attention to Australia’s vanishing flora and fauna species by blending themes of May Gibbs' and Norman Lindsay's nostalgic bush fairytales with the haunting eeriness of Australian’s iconic mystery novel, Picnic at Hanging Rock.

This illustrative series reflects the vulnerability of nature, but also her determination to endure mankind’s attempts to tame, confine and control her creations. Inspired by the beauty of the Australian landscape, these new works serve to promote appreciation and awareness of our unique biodiversity, while exploring ideas of destruction, displacement, rebirth, and the delicate connectedness of nature.

Her works wisely whisper the dichotomies shared between prey and predator.

LIFE RUINED MY GRAFFITI

IROK - BRISBANE / SYDNEY / MELBOURNE TOUR MARCH / APRIL
https://www.facebook.com/events/240681266392998/

‘Life Ruined My Graffiti’ is an exceptionally personal series of hand painted portraits and prose expressing the frustration, heartache and hardships of IROK's double life as a vandal, and a father.

The bravest leap of faith I ever made was to throw away safety of my underground world to start a real life from scratch. The white-picket fences, the fancy job titles, the family … it’s all lies we’re taught to lead for the perceptions of social success. This is not who I am.

IROK’s emotive transition to canvas portrays both the pain and pleasure from his double life. His personal sacrifices are painfully prevalent through his works with every emotion and experience bleeding onto the canvas.
This is my life, and it ruined my graffiti.“
